Office of Advocacy Appoints John Hart to Serve as Regional Advocate for Western States

WASHINGTON, D.C.- The Office of Advocacy in the U.S. Small Business Administration is pleased to announce John Hart has been appointed to serve as the Region 8 Advocate. Representing Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, Utah, North Dakota, and South Dakota, Hart will be the link between western small businesses and the Office of Advocacy.
Hart brings over 30 years of professional experience in both the public and private sector. He is a licensed lawyer in the State of Colorado and has extensive experience in the small business community. He recently served in the same role as Regional Advocate for Advocacy, advising and representing the small business community in Region 8. Hart has prior experience managing a housing portfolio for Baltimore Housing and the City of Baltimore. He has recently served on the Colorado Governor’s Small Business Counsel and the Colorado Small Business Development Center Advisory Board.

The Office of Advocacy has regional advocates in each of the 10 federal regions. This team identifies new issues and concerns of small business owners. They work closely with local government officials, state officials and legislators, and the Chief Counsel for Advocacy to develop programs and policies that support small business growth.

Created by Congress in 1976, the Office of Advocacy of the U.S. Small Business Administration is an independent voice for small business within the federal government.
