FCC Seeking Comment on Competitive Broadband Access in Multi-Tenant Environments

On September 7, 2021, The Federal Communications Commission released a public notice inviting a new round of comments on its proceeding examining how the FCC can promote increased broadband competition in apartments and office buildings.  Specifically, the FCC is seeking feedback on three key issues:

  • the impact of revenue sharing agreements between property owners and broadband providers on competitive entry, and the price and quality of service offerings to tenants;
  • the impact of exclusive wiring arrangements on competitive entry and consumer choice; and
  • the impact of exclusive marketing arrangements on consumers.

The Notice can be found here.

Comments are due on or before October 20, 2021, and reply comments are due on or before November 4, 2021.
