USPTO Requesting Comments on Patent Issues Related to Artificial Intelligence Inventions

On August 27, 2019, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) published a notice requesting comments on patent issues related to artificial intelligence (AI) inventions. In its notice, USPTO asks several questions covering patent examination policy, and whether new forms of intellectual property protection are needed to ensure the appropriate protections are available to encourage innovation in the AI space.

Comments are due by October 11, 2019, and can be submitted via email to AIPartnership@uspto.gov.
